Default 350 xenon info!

Got a question. Girlfriend has G35 coupe, I have 350z touring...question is...my headlights look like true xenon(light blue, very intense)her's look white..her window sticker says that her car has xenon headlights...yet the color and light intensity are completely different. Why?

thanks..Bob

there are different levels ranging from blue to yellow, as you get closer to blue you lose light output, 4500k is about as powerful as you can get; thats what the Z has. I would have thought the G35 would be the same; but its possible that its lower...(more yellow; tho itd probably just be less blue)

D2S (3200lm, 4100k) has higher lumens and color temperature than D2R (2800lm, 4000k).

I've noticed also that when I first turn on the lights they are blue-er than after they've been on for a while. That might be the reason you saw a difference if her lamps were hot and yours were still cold.

I just had a Beavis and Butthead moment... "Her Lamps were hot" Huh huh huh huh *SMACK*

It looks different because it is different. Z's get the nice projector HID's while G35's don't.

Mine seem to be a little bluer right at start up but even after they've been on for a while, they emit a nice blue/purple hue.

I thought ours were REFLECTORS. I think there's a difference.

I thought it was the other way around..D2S bulbs are for projectors while D2R bulbs are for reflectors.

the Z does look like a projector but it actually uses the D2R bulbs for reflector lamps.
