I'm currently waiting on a Bride seat that is one month overdue...the last time I contacted Adam his response almost made me feel like I was bugging him. I've spent a moderate amount of money on stuff from Z1, coilovers, camber kit, TK shift ****, and have done business with the worst of em, Rick, M1, CinCity...I can say that Adam has been the best to deal with, so I'm staying as positive as possible. I'm bummed that I don't have a tracking number and have missed so many track events though...

Reading the OP's post on Adams "promises" - the order has been "ready" to ship 3 separate times - indicates a severe lack of customer service to me. My first house was built in less time than it has taken for the guy to get his order and his situation is not unique based on the other thread, and there are a few threads in other non-Z forums relating the same problems as of late. If the problem is in Japan, then say so - don't keep telling the guy it is shipping today, tomorrow, or "soon". Sure seems something has changed with Z1.

i must add this. The end result sucks.. period. Op hasnt got his stuff, and theres no excuse for 7 months...
BUT..lets look at the positive facts here too:

Adam was in constant contact w the buyer.
Many manufacturers or customs policies between businesses in differnet countries makes drop shipping impossible.
Adam is the middleman in these international logistics and can only repeat what hes told.
Adam gave the option to bail out to OP.
Adam told the OP his business as well as realtionship as a customer is important to him, and posted here within the next day.
Adam is apparently working out a solution.

Long form:
Looks like Adam was in constant contact and was forthright with the issues at hand.. at no point was it rose tinted or blowing smoke up the guys @ss .. at least imo. Thats what i hate.. been there. FOR SURE BEEN THERE.. if i knew the real deal, i could at least go from there.. but when a vendor tells you its 100% cool.. and its not, well..

What happens is that these vendors here in the states have parts to sell you, and they have parts they have to order for you... well, we all google everything under the sun, so we always want all those hard to find parts too... so they work out logisitcs and become dealers for them, then they adjust thier website to reflect that they offer said part... then you buy said part... so they call thier contact at the manufacturere and make an order.. ( See where this is going? now THEY are the customer like you to the manufacturer).. they ask thier "guy" to keep them informed, and ask for an ETA etc..

then they turn around and give you that info. If that person at the manufacturer says
" 30 day, is no problem, many thank you."... well, Z1s probably gna tell you wht they were told...

then they call after 30 days and no parts shipped to you/them.. and someone there feeds them a line, or gives them an excuse. .. they relay it to you the end customer...
then after this dance continues for awhile, the vendor ( Z1) will either not give you as many updates since he has no new info, or finally, may say " Hey.. i still got nothing from these guys at (Cusco/etcetc).. do you still wana do this?
And i saw that email from adam in there.

Japan had a major earthquake and Tsunami.. if you think that didnt affect thier infrastructure, you're mistaken. Fortunatley, most of the manufacturers occupy the south and werent washed away, but shipping became pretty rough.

Bottom line is the OP has every right in the world to be pissed, and he handled his complaint/query FAR FAR FAR better than most ppl do on here.
What i get sick of is the interjections by those who state untrue facts as representation that someone like the OP is being ripped off.

This is the nature of our sport, and the ONLY way a vendor can mitigate these mini disasters that apparently happen every day is to communicate with the customer.. it did seem a bit fluffy w the " moving moving moving etc etc thing".. but it happens.. with the econoy the way it is, the margins to stay competetive etc.. alot of guys on here are movng to smaller shops, or ones with better walk in traffic locations etc. so i can at least believe that.
Then a death in the family... well, either its BS and hes playing every card on you.. OR.. someone in his FAMILY DIED. Cmon guys. Funeral or sway bars.. what do you think matters?

Many of our threads are pretty mundane and silly, so its cool to be "ad hominem" ( google it) , but threads with nonsense responses about dealer credibility chip at the base of thier business when they are unfounded, and in turn, OUR HOBBY AND PASSTIMES FUTURE. When they truly uncover rip off artists, there are more ppl on the angry train w good reason , and those vendors get pushed out.. Z1 "aint going anywhere" .

BTW, never spent a dollar at Z1, but i KNOW these issues to be fact because in ways, i KNOW them. I read the threads, i post, i make connections, and i build community here.

Again, the OP has stated his issues very well ( thank you for that OP, people are apprently more corteous in Spain than the US) , Adam has replied, and they should now be working on a solution.

Please watch the vendor bashing angry mod hate train comments.. i dont point that at ANYONE in the thread, or say there have been such comments already.. just saying it in case they pop us.. CUZ THEY ALWAYS DO.

Have a good morning everyone. : )

Man, very nice post. I wish I, as well as most of the human population looked at things calmly and patiently. We as people have become accustomed to having things instantly that any little hitch ruins our month. Justifiably 7 months is a long wait, but in perspective your conducting business across and between three different continents. OP I envy your patience.hope everything works out.

With a projected date of Dec 27, 2011, I would not exactly say your money is on it's way back to you. But best of luck with that - no one deserves to be screwed over by any vendor.

Yea my card bank is starting the chargeback , yesterday. Ill get it back as cash inc interest since it was already paid off. They just won't have it back to me until about that same time anyway.. oh well. At least it puts me back in control. Build will still go down.. but with rationed funds for sure .. piece by piece.

Anyways yal, im at the Kansas city mo airport. Time yo get on this plane n get home. Op, I feel yer pain being long distance n all. I betcha you'll get taken care of though.

If I spend ~$1400 on parts, get told multiple times that the product is in route and nothing shows up... I WOULD FEEL RIPPED OFF

Now add to that being from a different country and I can imagine the anxiety it would cause.

I also have had this same problem in the past. I bought about 3 grand in parts that I was told were all in stock wen I ordered and waited almost 6 months for it to all trickle in. All in different boxes with a back and forth on each one. With the same kind of lies and bs about how they already sent them.

Mails Adam October 11,

Hi Antonio – sorry if you didn’t see this reply earlier. Every time we’ve been told the order was ready for pickup, we then schedule our shipping company (this latest time was UPS), and then they are told it’s not ready. Unfortunately the supplier we use is unwilling to ship directly to you, which is why we have to coordinate the shipping from our end, which as you know has proven very difficult.

I understand you are not happy, and I am not happy either – it’s not a good situation for either one of us. I just spoke to our supplier earlier, and they now have to get back to me to reconfirm if all 3 components are boxed and ready….I truly hope they are as this has gone on too long.

You and I have dealt with each other many times over the years, but I understand that it can be difficult to put your trust in someone you’ve never met, half way around the world. I will do my best to get to the bottom of the situation in the next few days, and if I am not assured it can be fulfilled, you can either have the choice of changing to other items/components of your choosing, or a full refund.

Adam Mail October 14:

I have spoken to the manager for the firm we get these items from. They assure me they will have everything boxed and ready for pickup on 10.25, as they are now waiting on the toe arms again. These have all been paid for already. I have scheduled pickup for the 26th, at which point tracking will be sent and the items should be with you about 7 days later.

I really apologize for this mess. We are trying to get out of doing any further special orders like this as it just has been a nightmare to manage in recent months for a variety of reasons. I value you as a customer and consider you a friend for as long as we’ve dealt with one another, and I will always be here to assist you with any questions, etc you have in the future

It's been a difficult period for us to endure, for a variety of reasons. I am trying my best to get any outstanding special/backorders filled as quickly as possible, and once those are either done or cancelled, that will be it for those type of orders going forward. They are just too difficult to manage efficiently, and ultimately, not worth us being involved with. We'll leave those backorders/special orders to other firms to deal with. We've been held up by a number of different roadblocks in recent months, but I am committed to emerging from it with a more solidified focus. Instead of trying to be all things to all people, changing our focus towards certain offerings only, and leaving the rest alone altogether. That can only, ultimately, be done through communication with our customers.

Screw that. Get your refund and move on. Better companies out there.
