Alright so today the purchase of my 350z will be finalized. They are offering a warranty with the purchase. It will cost $1630 for it. It is the deluxe package warranty. Can you please take a look at these scans of the warranty and help me decide if the money is worth the warranty or if the warranty doesn't really add up to the amount of repairs a general 350z would nee? My 350z has 55k on it. The warranty apparently covers anywhere in the U.S.A. I just am car illiterate and do not completely understand if this is a warranty I should definitely get. All help is much appreciated.

So I take it you are being sarcastic. Further detail on it would be that it covers up to 103,000 miles or 4 years. Like I said. I know nothing about this so a little more information rather than sarcasm would greatly be appreciated haha.

Skip the warranty.
You are buying a 03 AT,with very low miles(55k).
Along with the posted graphic on reliability, since I have the same
car(03..bought new),I can attest the reliability matches the info on the
graphic.Never had any major(or even minor)probs save for,the usual maitenance
stuff,brakes-filters etc.and the legendary front tire feathering.replace rear hatch dampers, hatch actuator.
Save your money and use it for some mods for your new car.
Besides that, these warranties state that you must take your car to a "participating"
garage. How many of these "garages" will actually know anything about a Z?

A extended warranty is just like insurance. If you drive your car without insurance and it gets wrecked, you pay out of your pocket to get it fixed. If you operate any car without a warranty, you risk having to pay for any major repairs. The big question is how averse are you to risk? Are you willing to pay $1600 today for something that will buy you a $2000 transmission or a $4000 engine?

The VQ35 engine is practically bulletproof and I have not heard anything negative about the AT from '03. My '03 has 115k on the clock and has had about $1000, list price/dealer installed problems. One window motor, a fuel door release relay, a cam position sensor, and a throttle body. The first two were under the factory warranty in the first 3 years, the last two I bought and replaced the parts myself in the last 3 years, total cost around $250. Warranties are tricky - you really have to read the fine print to see what is covered. As Dave says, it is really a buyers take on risk and reward.
That's odd - most extended warranties are "powertrain" centric. That is, they cover the big stuff that rarely fails but when it does there is significant cost involved. The little minor things, cosmetic parts, etc. that break after a years of use and abuse are what they usually never cover.
Skip the warranty like everyone else has said. I also own a 2003 with 49,000 miles and no complaints. I used Consumer Reports as well for the Z, and just about anything else I buy. Just make sure you look at the carfax report or an equivalent of that to see the history of the Z.
Like JCITY said, keep the money for mods. You'll be glad you did.
