I just read this thread and thank to Zmeflyby for issuing the first warning and thank to Tim to clean up the dirty laundry. This forum continue to maintain a high ethical standard. There is no reason for insulting other sport car.

Chris S, jwfisher and the local Austin S2K folks are extremely friendly to the local 350Zer. We had dinner together last Tuesday and were invited to join them for a weekend drive in October and in other events. We both respect each other cars as fine sport car.

Chris S,

Sorry this happen to you. It is not a representative of the folks here. Most folks in this forum are educated and have high ethical standard. Once in a while, there are some exceptions. The mods and webmaster always do their best to keep this place clean and make this a friendly place to exchange constructive opinion.

actually the 2001 Z06 hits 0-60 IN 4.3 secs (C&D) (not including my mods which i dynoed at 407 hp at the fly wheel..)and weighs about 100 lbs lighter then the track.

and just fyi, the 2002 with 405 hp hits 0-60 in 3.9 secs.

Just a minor correction for ya..

Yeah.....3.9.............and it feels gooooooooooooooooodddd!!!!!!!

I just wish Chevy would get their act together as far as quality, but there's no denying the compelling feel of the Z06.
Unfortunately, when my left knee hits the door panel and it moves and squeeks as if it''s made of cardboard, I get a little disenchanted.

Default buying cash, bill G.

Actually, I hear Bill Gates doesn't even drive a NEW car... I think he's still driving the modified Lexus he had built a few years ago...

So that guy's statement was even more nonsensical

i agree, ZZTOPP. But people have to understand something.

The 350Z was made to have a performance level of a car that costs twice as much (911, boxster s, etc...) for example. So, in order to do that and yet make it affordable, they had to cheapen out on a few things, one being the interior for example ( i am not saying the interior is bad, but it isnt great either) I mean, if they made the interior of a 350Z like a BMW and gave you the same or better performance, you will be paying A LOT more then what the car costs now. probably pay about 45k or so. just an estimation.

Now, the Z06 is in the same exact scenerio as the 350Z. But this time, the car is just as fast or faster then cars that cost 3-4 times as much. And that is where my Z gets so much respect, as i am sure the 350Z will get the same respect for the same reason.

So when people talk about the interior of the Z06 or the 350Z, we have to take this into consideration...

Absolutely....and even though I may dump the Vette and replace it with a new Viper, I know the interior will not be as good as it should be, or at least not as good as I would like it to be.....but a 500 HP convertible may be worth putting up with a couple of creaks now and then.

Default Interior quality

I don't think the 350Z interior quality is bad, it is acceptable but it is not up to the level of lower price car like my wife Honda Odyssey. If both 350Z and Corvette interior can match that of a Honda family car like Accord or Odyssey, then I don't think anyone can complain.

yes, but i bet your wifes car cant outperform cars that cost 2wice-5 times more then her car...

Not putting her car down, its a nice car, but i am trying to make a point to why the interiors are like that.

Well, that's the point I tried to convince myself that Nissan put all the money in performance and didn't have much left for nicer interior. However, I am still little disappointing after paying $34+ grands for the Touring. When Infiniti annouce the price for the G35C, then we will know how much it cost more to get a better interior and an up market brand name, with the performance stuff being near equal.

Or he was really a ricer and the 350Z he was driving actually belong to his father. But then again, I guess if he was a ricer, he'd have at lest one of those attributes that you listed, nizl.

Touring6mt_z, i agee.

When the G35C comes out, and if the cost is near the 350Z, then i will say that the G35C is one hell of a bargain. I say that because it has the interior and the speed of an upper class car, but at the same time, it costs a lot less (assuming it will cost less)
so, only time will tell for that.
