Default Few new mods, dyno - pics/video 2005 5AT

Just added my final NA mod and got it tuned mainly to make sure it will be running optimally and not lean or anything. Nothing crazy really. It's my daily driver and wanted a conservative tune that would just squeeze out a bit more power and keep it running reliably.

This is probably all I will do for now power-wise, until the Z is kept in a garage as my weekend warrior. I might still do some suspension work though.

But I'm mainly making this thread for a shoutout to Jas and Jay at JDS Motoring for their quality work. Great guys and do recommend them for any work you want done.

BERK HFC's getting installed

Slapped on some cross-drilled slotted rotors and HAWKS from 88 rotors, great quality for the price

Another mod earlier this year was my Pioneer Radio

Mods:
BERK HFC
Borla TD
Kinetix V+ Plenum
JWT Popcharger
Osiris Tune

It looks like I still gained some power and didn't lose any from modding since the original run after the mods but before the tune was 235WHP. A little higher than expected.

255WHP and looks like about 239 lb/tq after the tune, so a 20WHP gain.

Also, I am 5AT. So not bad I think for an automatic DE non-revup

He said he could have squeezed some more out if i wanted, but I was good with it being how he got it.

Here is a quick short video of the dyno, it was recorded with my iphone, so the sound quality is crap and is obviously much louder in person lol. IMO, while the Borla might be a pain to get it to fit right since it comes in many pieces, it sounds great and no rasp at all paired with the BERKs.

Serious question about the graph. The HP increased at the top end, but didnt it lose a lot of low end torque?

my 04 auto had full bolt ons, and then i got a tune AND the transgo kit done at the same time.. it was a completely different car. i'd 100% recommend the transgo kit... before a tune though so they can adjust the shift points with it.

I just had a tune from Z1 Motorsports.Jon also tweaked my 5AT.When in
the manual mode, the shifts are twice as fast as before the tune.In standard
automatic, the shifts are crisper but nowhere near as fast as in manual.
Jon mentioned the shifts could be made a tad faster. After I test drove,I was
very satisfied with the first adjustment.I too question the chart. The results
of my tune were a bit above the OP'S.Torque was much higher across all bands.
My objective given to Z1 Motorsport was to improve my low and mod range performance.
That was accomplished. The chart and how the car runs(it now seems "lighter")indicates that.

Since its been mentioned by the OP,just what is RASP?I'll bet if you ask
10 Z owners,you'll get 10 different answers.Rasp according to WEBSTER'S,a scraping
sound...What I see as rasp(could be wrong)is more of a distortion.Kinda like
a bad speaker.I'm a ex-pro musician so I'm using this comparative.I'd guess a clean sounding exhaust tone just sounds,rounded-soft,the tone pretty much stays the same
even if its louder.Distortion comes when you over ride the exhaust components. To
put it plainer, look inside of a resonator. Its basically an old glass pack.Has crevices
that "catch" the exhaust flow. Those small indentations backed with a baffling material,
soften the tone. You give too much throttle, the flow is too much for those sound busters to handle....distortion.If that is rasp,I kinda like it.A buudy of mine has a older Ferrari.
Yep,those Italian cars have rasp.
So,rasp to me is more of a throaty sound that comes at WOT.With HFC's,this distortion
comes with the component.
A little rasp to me is not a bad thing.

How long ago did you buy them? Maybe they changed their design now because when i got them i noticed they were coated. I've had them on now over a month and its been in plenty of rain and good so far, no rust yet.

Maybe since it's an AT and the torque converter makes the chart appear a little different than an MT would? I don't know how that works but i'm sure some people here do.
