Oh, you're Zland's friend then? The guy with the roadster?

That friend of Zland (Jeff) was Art singer, assoc publisher of SportZ magazine. Hopefully he will post a pic of our track day in the upcoming issue of the magazine. He was trying to be low key on that day so he could just enjoy hanging out with everyone and be a Z guy for the day instead of the magazine guy.

I think I speak for a few people, Carlos, thanks for organizing the event, and for welcoming a bunch of Z's to what was organized by SE-R owners. I had a great time, and I didn't even bring a car to drive.

RAZSZM, I'm impressed you drove 800 miles. That's dedication.

I never said anything to you! Please tell me what you think of me? You must be a tough guy for sitting behind a computer and banning people all the time. Plus you need to give warnings if you do bann people. We didn't start this mess...the others did and they need to be dealt with too!

I'm no tough guy, and I don't ban people all the time. I think you're actually my first.

No, I don't have to give you any warnings. You've broken enough rules already.

I would hope that you're using a different computer than your friend, or else I would think that an IP ban would get him kicked out also. I don't have any particular problem with him, so I hope he doesn't get banned also.

Nobody else came on this site and starting throwing curses around.

Default Improving beginner group

I was talking with Carlos and we were thinking about improving the beginner group by offering bettter classroom instruction. Perhaps having the beginners run second so they can have a little classroom instruction.

After each run group have a bried download session so questions could be asked and problem driving and complaints could be addressed.

This is the way NASA runs their beginners and if people feel like this would help them become better drivers faster, we could start doing this as well.

Or would beginners find this boring and rather get on the track right away? We try to have a 1:1 instructor-student ratio in beginner but maybe a little more instruction could be useful?

I think that's a good idea. I didn't drive, but I would have been a little nervous being a rank beginner bringing my car out to the track for the first time. I think that it's assumed that people know about lines and apex's, but we probably think we know a lot more than we actually do.

I never got to ride with an instructor, so for the drivers who did, they may have gotten a different impression.

I am glad to see that there is a discussion about beginners since their first experience really has to be a good one or they might not return.

I felt the one on one was great. Briefing right afer each run for maybe the first two runs would be helpful.

Any of you guys with non-brembo and non-aftermarket brakes think that you had any brake fade?

The cars I rode in, it didn't seem to be a problem.

Just curious.

I got my stock ones to smoke on the front passsenger side. I am thinking of geting some Brembos or after market ones liie Stop tech's just because I am beginning to track my Z a lot and the stock ones are just on the edge.

I have been impressed with the stock brakes, they have done better than I expected.

No smoke on my stockers, and I didn't really notice any fade.
