In the market
I'm looking to trade my car for a 2007 touring.
That issues should I be looking for?
The carfax says it's had a minor crash, front left which makes me wary.
It has aftermarket wheels and exhaust on it which I may want to get rid of if someone want's to trade/buy
If anyone has info on this car lemme know. It's in Hickory NC
small pic sorry

Not sure what I'm not supposed to be serious about.
I was thinking the same. Its from a dealer but after owning a tuner car I know it was probably beat to hell.
Just needed to be talked out of an obsession.
Damnit! I'll keep looking I guess

OP - i'm in the same boat as you. I'm shopping for a 350z as well and from what I've seen over the last few weeks stay far away from these cars that have been in wrecks, I've never seen so many cars for sale with rebuilt titles.
IMO even try to stay away from the ones that have been modded. If the car has more than a custom intake I move on.

Definitely take your time looking for the right Z. I am from Charlotte, NC and it took me 3 months to find the right one. I went for a completely stock 2006 Touring with a clean carfax. Starting with a fresh canvas. There is plenty or Zs being posted in this region daily.

My advice when buying a used Z:
1. If the car has been in a crash, don’t buy it. Some wrecks are OK, but you don’t know how badly it was hurt.
2. Mods ruin a car’s value. If the car has mods that are not Nismo, don’t buy it, or at least insist on a 30% (or more) reduction in the price. A steep price reduction provides funds you need to correct problems with a fualty modification.
3. Drive the car before you buy it. Insist on a long test drive during which you are permitted to push the car. You are looking for vibrations in the steering, problems when shifting (up and down), and any hesitation during hard acceleration. Your intention here is evaluating the drivetrain (engine, clutch, and differential).
4. If the car is older (a 2003-2006), check the body, especially the rear fender wells where you should look for bubbling, which is an indication of rust. Don’t6 buy a car with rust since it cannot be repaired and only becomes worse (and at a progressive rate).
Used Z’s hold their value very well, so expect to pay a premium for a good Z car.
