Default Opinions on how much my car is worth in private sale.

So I'm thinking of selling my 03 Touring redline Z. Just kinda wanted to get an idea on how much some of you guys think it's worth.
It's a -
6MT - Touring model - 2003 - redline in color
128k miles
Paint - 7/10 - it is a 10year old car so it has a few dings, and a little paint crack below driver side headlight.
Interior- 7/10 - driver seat has signs of wear, everything else is pretty clean. If it want for the driver seat id give it an 8/10 just due to it being 10 years old lol

New belts, a couple knock sensors, intake gaskets, 91 octane fuel only, synthetic oil only every 5k miles

MTD iso plenum spacer and berk test pipes
Everything else is stock.

I'll get some pics up tonight, but in the mean time can I get some ideas on prices you guys have seen. Kbb shows it at like $9k, NADA - $10,700, black book - $9700.

Any info helps, btw thinking of selling due to wanting an HR nismo I've seen for sale on the forum

$2.00

Every area is different. Look what other people around you are selling for.

ask for 10.5k private, u should be able to get 9.5 - 10k

all depends on condition and trim of your car, I've see 03 tracks with high (100k+) mileage go as high as 15k.

In oklahoma other touring Z's I've seen are all around $12k with a little less mileage. I was thinking about putting $11k on it, not in any hurry to sell, and if someone gives me $10 taking it. Like I said though I'm in no hurry at all to sell, but if someone offered me that I couldn't turn it down

I am kinda in the same boat..I was selling my car last fall but I had way too many calls/tire kickers/low ball, so now I am like you. Not really in a hurry to sell but if someone gave me a decent offer, I will probably take it.

128k is normal for a 10 year old car, but buyers will still see >100k as unfavorable.

8/10 on any part of a 10 year old car is better than normal, so you are good here.

You have a nice car in good condition. The right buyer will push $10k, and the likely sale price will be around $9k. Everyone looking at the car will come equipped with knowledge of the posted internet price.

I think you should be happy with this amount. The Z holds its value better than almost any car.

Just to give you an idea. I picked up my 03 Z touring with 89K 01/12. The car had aftermarket cat back and 19" wheels otherwise clean and maintained paid $8k. Not sure how is the market now. but this is what I found with few clicks

I'm with you Lubo. I was thinking anyone willing to pay more than 9K for that car was paying too much but I guess prices can vary depending on the region. Also, my experience has been that owners typically "over-score" their cars on appearance. Almost no cars deserve an excellent rating and few really qualify as very good. This particular car may really be an 7/10 but the person buying it will see that as a negative regardless of the age.

Alright so here is the skinny coming from a guy that has been searching the country for a Z. I can tell you it all depends on where your from.

However most of these cars are being bought by people who are willing to travel hundreds of miles to get a great deal.

Here a list of every 2003 for sell in the US on autotrader with a M/T and as you can see the prices are everywhere. http://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-s...rch=true&Log=0

If your car was bone stock I'd say you would get $9k-9500 but with it being modded I'm thinking you'll get $8-8500. This is based on your car being pretty clean. Also people on craigslist sell them dirt cheap I saw a kid selling one for $6k he needed money fast.

Um, he listed both the KBB and NADA estimates......Ultimately a car is worth what someone would pay for it. I'm guessing something south of $10k though. Local guy here got around $8k for his '03 with similar miles - some kid from Detroit came down and bought it same day he looked at it. I would have given his a 7/10 though.
