Default buying a salvage car for track use

I was wondering how many of you guys have gone down this road or thought about it before. I would like to build a straight track car for drift. I searched all over around my area I have not had much luck with trying to find a decent deal I'm willing to spend the $$$ for something I will strip down and sell off.. just wondering how many people have had some good deals from doing this..

Buy a previously salvaged title car, they are worth half what a normal car would be. That cuts your initial costs by a bunch.

not that i'm aware of, most of the stuff on the Z is either plastic, aluminum or sheet metal.

Good luck. Most of the Zs in my area are salvaged and selling at clean title prices because they have some sort of crappy mod on them.

and you are correct they jack the price up if it has a sticker from APC .

My Z is marked salvage, it's an 06 GT fully loaded, came with Nismo s-tune exhaust, few other nismo things, wheels and tires along with the original Track V.2's with tires as well. It was in a front end collision and they replaced the front end with 03-05 parts which is a little upsetting but at the time I believe I got an awesome deal, I got it for 10k in 2007 2008ish with about 36,XXX miles so it was it was fairly new when I got it. I've never had a single problem with it and it now has 77,XXX but I've also heard of some horror stories so be careful with what you get and check it out for frame damage or abnormally wearing tires.

Buying a salvaged car for your DD is foolish and risky.

Buying a salvaged car for the track is wise and safe.
