Yea, the problem doesnt lie in the weight on the tires, its the temperature range that they are in - The stock tires might as well be rounded off and bald because the rubber is too hard and smooth to grab anything. Also the tread pattern on them isnt set up for snow at all - you could prolly have the shop chenge out youre rims with snow tires for like an extra 10-15 a rim, would just need to store your regular tires someplace.
Then have them put back on as soon as it starts to get dry on the road or warm again. As driving snow tires without snow will eat them up quickly.

Personally, I didn't feel like going through this much effort...I just loaded them up in my father's Maxima and he drove them home for me.
