Default Big decision... Help

Ok guys I recently bought a 04 carbon silver 350z convertible roadster with a couple of rips on the vinyl top but the dealership promise to fix it (which I got in writing) and now they cant dish out to fix it... Now I got offered to trade it for a 03 black 350z coupe in great shape with 3,000 more miles on it then my convertible. Does this sound like a good deal or a bad one. y'alls opinion is greatly appreciated. Thanks

If you have it in writing, I guess it's your decision on wanting a convertible or not. They have to honor the contract even if it takes for you to bug the crap out of them.

aren't all roadster models tourings? if so, if the 03 is a base model it might not financially make sense to do so... make sense?

I would keep the convertable and make them fix the top.. it's worth more than a coupe.

Sounds shady they want to offer you a different car versus fix it. I know it's costly to fix it just make sure it's done right

You need to make them honor their promise, especially since you have it in writing. Plain and simple.

If they will not, state you have it in writing black and white. Then if they are to still say no threaten to file a case with bbb and attorney general, plus bad reviews on cars.com, autotrader and Google. They don't want bad pr especially when they are in the wrong.

That's a TERRIBLE deal. Assuming that the two cars are in comparable shape, an Enthusiast is worth about $2000 more than the coupe and a Touring is around $2500. If it was me, I'd make fix the roof or at the very least come up with some money to sweeten the deal. Straight-up trade? No f'in way.

All Roadsters are not Touring. They also have Enthusiast Roadsters.

UPDATE... I think that the dealership was jerking my chain... Haven't received any call backs or anything. So I'll probably call home office soon.

I would call them asap. Get the ball rolling and make sure they stick to the deal.

Dealership will hope you go away, but don't let it happen that easy. It's in black and white in your retail contract that they would fix it.

You need to walk into the dealership and create a hellstorm. Be as loud as you can. State your case and MAKE them fix it. You have it in writing on a contract. They have to abide by it. If there are other customers in there shoo them out, create havoc and you will get what you want.

tell them you will be going to court if its not done by the end of the month. They want to get rid of the 03 coupe and save money. Your 04 is worth probably over a grand more than the 03 especially when they put a new top on. I did my top myself, it was a PITA.

Or do what Stuartc323 said and raise hell well threatening to go to court You just gotta be an a** with them, I have to do it with verizon the are ******.
No company likes the work "court" it would go on public file and all.

Hope all goes well with your replacement, i hope what you got in writing was for a replacement hood and not just a repair. I'd be going over every inch of that thing when you return to pick it up just to make sure all is just right. Let us know how you get on.

Make sure it's done right. Look it over a hundred times before you accept their work.
