After months and months of thinking and then waiting and reading threads about the Z ........ My SB Touring sits in my Garage to my delight after getting it last night. I had actually ordered one as I wanted it loaded with the Nav and everything just perfect, including the XM radio, but when I found out about the ugly install of the antenna.....I called the dealer I ordered it from and they said there was nothing they could do, but I was welcome to cancel if I'd like (after already waiting two months and knowing it was coming in a couple more weeks....

I was torn......I really didn't want to start all over again on the order process...but I didn't want that damn attenna on the roof.....

So I kept watching local inventories, and to my delight yesterday I found the exact one I had ordered except with a black interior instead of orange (which I had decided I liked better anyway after seeing the other combo)....and it didn't have the XM radio......but was loaded with everything else.........including a clear bra which I wanted....They matched my deal....and I took them down on the markup of the bra..... and the Z is finally mine.....

Yes and she talks to me (navagation)....and the wife is a bit jealous....she claims I have a mistress........and well, maybe she is.......

It's my fourth New Z......and this one has been a long time coming.... I'll see you on the road.......

I have never even heard about the top antenna? What is it for and what does it look like? Any pictures?

i've seen several aftermarkets put it on the strut bar, and it works fine, and you barely notice it. I dont see why nissan would do such a thing.
