Default Advice For Securing Z to Uhaul Trailer

I was finally able to load my 2006 350z coupe on the tow trailer by detaching the trailer from the truck, jacking up the trailer using the ***, and then easing up the ramp. I am using the two tire nets in the front to strap it in.

My question is, underneath the trailer there is a chain in the front and one in the back to be attached to the bottom of the car as an additional layer of protection. Does anyone know what part underneath my car I could attach each chain two?

The uhaul guy said as long as the tire nets are strapped tight it shouldn't matter, but I'm not taking any chances with my baby.

thanks guys,

JR

I'm not sure where I'd put it but if everything fails and a single chain that's attached to your Z's frame is all that's keeping secured.... It's gone anyways.

Well there's two, one for the front and one for the rear. You may be correct about a bad outcome, if it comes to that.

No bro put in your tow hook from the front of the bumper and tie it to that, make sure there isnt too much slack, you shouldnt need the back one if you have the front tow hook locked down

Unless the tire straps fail (seriously unlikely) and then you hit the brakes to pull over.... had a stock car land in the back of my truck after a rear web strap let go and it jumped the front of the trailer when pulled up to an intersection....

Usually you would pull forward enough to hook it to a hole in the sub frame (haven't looked for one though) and then let the car roll back to put tension on it.. and then hook up the tire straps. The front cross member brace would be the best spot to hook it. so just pull up further than usual to hook the chain and then let it roll back to put tension on it and then hook your straps... and then done.

But uhaul trailers are a PITA anyways... Budget rental ones are worse though

Those are lift points. There's nothing there to put the chain through.

However, there is a tie down ring on the left side of the underbody behind the tire. You can see it in the middle of this picture at the extreme left edge.

I'd be inclined to get some extra tire nets to secure the rear of the car.

Hook one around the exhaust and the other around the fuel line.
