So I'm a first time Z owner. I own a Metallic Blue (Code B17) 2004 350z Touring. I've had it for a few weeks, it's got 80k miles on it, in perfect shape on the inside, and 8/10 in the paint. Just for the record it's probably 10/10 for most people, but I'm stupidly picky on perfection .

I'm absolutely in love with it, it dominates my thoughts and my dreams, sadly Sad, I agree. I have a list a mile long of cosmetic things I'm ordering, but as for some extra horsepower, I'm still unsure.

What I'm looking for is to maximize my HP to dollar ratio. I don't want to spend X amount on, say, a cold air intake, when I could take that X amount and buy something for the same price that will provide more performance.

My price range is $100-500 on individual parts. I say $100, not 0, because I'm not looking for tips and tricks that will give me 1HP here, and 3HP there, AT THE MOMENT.

I did see a few chips out there that promise 50 - 60 HP for about $100, thoughts on those? If you have to be told to avoid this s*** then.. yeah go ahead and buy them! Best ones to look into? Anything you guys think is the best bang for the buck would be greatly appreciated. I have my ideas, but this is my first Z, so I would rather get the facts from people who have been there done that!

Thanks in advance for your help!
Now, honestly, an easy way to plant power to the ground - a good set of sports tires.

+1 on the turbonator. Been running it for a couple years. I ran it alone for the first year and loved it, but last December I added one of the turbo spooler sound enhancer exhaust tip add on and now I absolutely love it. You should see the looks on everyone's face when I drive by whistling.

Go to jdmasFack.com, order Vtec, and be done with it.

OP your budget is not realistic for anything other than a JWT Pop-Charger intake

Given your plans with the car I would just save your money for maintenace

Everyone was a newbie once, but goddamn this kid is pushing stupidity levels of over 9,000. Basically OP is saying there are hundreds of threads on this same idea he had while fapping in the tub to Brandon33's old Z33, and gets butt hurt when we all tell him to "go read".

OP when you get you chip, please let me know because I have wasted a lot of money to get 10Hp out of my DE, so when you are doing 5sec 1320 times at racewars, can you please allow me to spoon the inside of your Z while I roll around in polyurethane bushings?

You're smart enough to realize this, but too dumb to search for them?

What do you think has changed in regards to the 2004 350Z aftermarket since those threads? The info still remains the same; if you have $500, buy a pop charger and plenum spacer. If you have $500x4, go FI.

Fin.

$2000 ain't gonna get you FI, even if you could do it yourself. Rough estimate on HP gains is about $100 per pony - at least that is the figure that has been thrown around here for the last 10 years, and don't for a second believe HP gains from the vendors - they are all full of crap. So $2000 will get you 20 - which you won't even be able to feel. Besides, HP isn't everything, the Z is not a dragster for the love of god! Put the money into suspension and tires, take it to a road track, and learn how to drive.
