concept: 2004 350z
Super job on modifying the rear end...but
I like it the way it is... your changes make the A$$ of the car look even larger than the back of a Supra...
The new Z protype originally had this type of look, but changed in order to reduce the rear mass.

I concur.
Exhaust good
A$$ bad
Photoshop skills good
PS: I said Photoshop skills 'good' just to maintain the good/bad/good flow. The skills seem much better than just 'good' to me.

yeah exsilio i did something like that a couple months ago but i never posted it. it really looks bad because i don't have photoshop...i had to use the two simplest programs available...microsoft paint and microsoft photo editor. and that's why this photo looks sooooo bad.
yeah i agree the rear end looks a little big. but i don't like those oval exhaust tips. the reasonably large round ones on the 350z seem the right size.

ex,
Good thought and effort. My 2 cents:
Oval exhaust look great. Integrate better with the bottom of the bumper compare with the round.
The separation of red and white taillight line doesn't line up with the hatch line. One suggestion for another trial if you want, make it line up and use it as a turn signal only (white infront with amber in the background).
Agreed with eveyone on the removal of the backup light. Nissan put it there to reduce the mass of the original bumper. Check out the G35 coupe, it has the same problem with too big of a rear bumper mass look.
Great effor overall.

knihc2008,
Without using photoshop? You did an outstanding job..even if you had used photoshop. Very nice work man. Keep it up.
Touring6MT_Z,
I had thought about having the rear light match the line extending from the hatch line, however, if you look closely at the pic, you will see that Nissans final design does not have the lines match up either and I can maintained that same design. I think that they were of the mind that the line is subtle enough it wasn't an issue, and they wanted a seeming ly lower belt line along the lateral side of the car...but I may just be talking out my butt
And to all,
I do agree the bumper could use a bit more work. I think my updated design makes the car more sleek like, but it does, in turn, make the car more bulbous...well, back to the drawing board.

Hmm...looks familiar

I added the dual exhaust and the edging. I had contemplated the vertical lines you have there or something similar..but I thought it would make the car too busy. I think Nissan was going for a very minimalist, Teutonic design and I was trying to maintain that.
I like what you got there though.

Great work, men. I appreciate viewing the alternatives.
BUT, IMO, Nissan done good.
I like the round duels as delivered. I hope the lip edge is NOT rolled though. Simple is best.
I never understood the CAST exhaust tips added to cars....ie Pontiac.
