when i read a thread where a sedan is competion or a close challenge to a sports car stock vs stock I go UGHHHHH

of course these highend mucho $ cars (rs6, benz, etc) are quick but i expect a sport cars in general to be far more superior in speed/handling/etc than a sedan stock for stock. As much as people hate the srt4 i have to clap my hands for the price and performance. As far as reliablity is concerned i'll leave that to washujon to answer.


this was triggered by the acura tl vs. 350z thread. maxima's are also pretty quick for what they are EVEN a forester. Yes, we are faster but it seems incomparable to a srt4's

does anyone feel the same...i would never ever in a lifetime trade my z in for a srt4...just making a comparison in challenges.

 

All the more reason to MOD your Z.

 

Too many people comparing apples and oranges, cause of all the choices avaliable today. Just pick the one you like drive the s--- out of it and skip all these posts that compare a car you could care less about being compared to your choice, make your choice and live with that choice no need to explain to anyone but yourself the why of it! As nike says 'Just Do It'!!!!

 

Sports car class is an image thing... always has been. If Nissan wanted to blow away the competition they could have thrown a tuned Titan engine under the hood and threw up the peace sign to a C6.

The SRT4 is a smoking ride. My friend has one, turns 13s at the track... but remember when you step out of that car, it's still a Neon ~~~ HI!

 

The SRT4 is very fast, it will keep right upside with my Z. But you are right, it is still a neon. I would much rather pull up next to a car of girls in the Z than the Neon.

 

Problem with my Z is there is NO room for girls. I can fit 1... but when is 1 enough?

 

You have to be creative. I know there is only one seat, but since when is 2-3 girls sitting in one seat a bad thing?

 

RIIIGHT! Seeing as the C6 weighs less than the Z and has more HP than the Titan

 

At 3245 lbs the C6 hardly weighs less than the Z... maybe my Z, but not the coupe. The C6 does have more HP than the Titan, but again... that's why I specified a tuned Titan engine. You think the Z engine is the exact same as an Xtera?

 

yep comparisons like that are totally irrelevant, you think ferrari owners really care that an m5 can almost run with them...i doubt it

 

Throw in a V8 to the Z, the weight goes up and the weight distribution gets front heavy. I just don't see them tuning up the V8 in that truck the 100+ hp it would need to be flashing "peace signs". Then, you can always magazine race with the Z06 replacement...

i agree with the comments about image and that no car can be all things to all people. but actually i think when the z first came out it was that rare car with the best styling, performance, reliability, gas mileage, etc in its price range. problem is, a year later the evo and sti appeared.

 

ACTUALLY i had 2 in my Z 2 days ago, you hafta get very creative, but it is definitely possible.... I have done it more than once, a few times sitting on each others laps and one time one girl was crouched down where ur feet would b in the passenger side and had her head on the legs of the other girl... why they decided that way i may never know
