DE 350z beating a newer Camaro SS??
There's a dude on youtube claiming that he smoked a 2010 Camaro SS with his 2005 350z (VQ35DE engine) with just a Nismo intake & exhaust.
I am not a 350z owner nor a Camaro SS owner but I do know differences between the DE and HR engines on the 350z. I often go to the track with my SRT8 Jeep and have raced against both of those cars. I could understand a 07+ 350z HR (VQ35HR) beating a Camaro SS but NOT a 350z with the VQ35DE engine.
With a unbiased opinion what do you owners think of his claim?
I told him he was full of ****.

The data is published, the SS runs the quarter mile in 12.2, the 350z, is a 13.6-13.9 depending on year and trim. Thats not even in the same zip code. Just another case of morons who are too stupid to read the published data running off at the mouth.
Where did you find it published that an SS ran a 12.2? No article I have found is close to that time. That being said you would have a helluva time trying to beat a 5th gen SS in an N/A Z, let alone one running a DE.
My bad, the data I found was the 2014 Z28 with 505 hp, the SS is a meager 426 hp so it would be a mid to high 12 second car. The Z33 in any stock guise is still a mid to high 13 second car and the new camaro in it's fastest iterations is a full second faster, in drag racing thats a lifetime. "Roll racing" isn't racing, it's morons jerking each other off in the road because they lack the skill and or intellect to race in a structured measurable repeatable manner.
yea, if a Z can catch an SS off guard, or the SS owner isn't in at the right speed, then maybe keep up with. I beat a CTS-V off the line and through 1/4... he caught me in the end, but nonetheless, if the V8 owner has a bad start, the Z is capable of catching many off guard.
