Every time i step back into the Forum and see what is new i always come back to this post. Still have my 03 Performance. Thinking about doing a rear mount STS turbo just for fun, and keep it for my kid. Who knows......might even sell it to pick up something new. I've driven the 370's and although they feel quick, i just can't stand them and their blind spots.
Yes but you were out of country for a bit. There have been a few that left me shaking my head but you're right, not too many.
The one you linked above is actually a fair question, albeit on a subject car not exactly relevant and wish I could help but that's one of those that require one to puts hands on to diagnose.
So why fo' you gots to get all up in that? <===Trying to see if I can feign a dialect that's detectable through text.
But ya, dreamer thread for sure. Or very insecure. I find it amusing that I hear people talking all the time about this or that person chasin' them, hatin' on 'em, attempting to race them... blah blah blah. That thread isn't any different; hence the need for "more power".
So here's a question.... How come people don't do that to me? Especially being an old man driving.... should be easy pickin's to impress the passenger in their car, right? Bzzzzzt....
Nope, people recognize me and back down. "Oh shid.... it's HIM!!! I hope he didn't think I was revving at HIM!!"

Would I lie?
I'm detecting a Canadian accent? Or are you a mainer?
To the OP,
The 350z is getting cheap (at least the DE is. The HR Seems to hold it's value a little better) and now people are buying 350zs like Hondas because they are priced similar. Let's all be real here, the VQ sucks for performance unless you want to spend 20 million dollars having to build it so u can boost it. I for one hate the VQ35HR, and will probably swap mine in the future.

Let's not confuse what is now an affordable used car for what the real problem is: attitudes towards the 350Z. Some people don't want to take the time to learn about cars in general; they just want to be handed the whole package, spoon-fed. Some people simply don't realize the lengths Nissan went to in making a car with a variety of traits: great styling, performance, affordability, utility and durability. Those were when the Z was first introduced, but they still shine through after more than 15 years, which is an eternity in car development.
And let's be REAL here- after years of racing the Z33 against a variety of cars that cost more than the Z, it's clear than it fights quite well above its weight. Porsche, BMW, Mazda, Ford, Chevy, etc. - the VQ (whether DE or HR) does not suck if you know how to utilize it. This season, SCCA has even mandated 37 mm air restrictors for both the DE and HR (along with more weight and smaller tires) in an attempt to equalize competition in the Touring 3 racing class. Sorry to hear you hate your VQ35HR, maybe you should just sell your Z and buy a V8 powered car if you don't want to learn more about why the VQ works so well in the Z.
As someone who has actually been in DKs race Z33, I can attest to his statements regarding tire size and literally bolting steel/lead plates where the passenger seat used to be to make the car less competitive.
This is done in horse racing also. They "handicap" the fastest horse with lead in the saddle to give slower horses a chance.
If the Z33 is such a track slug, why the restrictions and 100+ lbs of weight?
(He still won his class btw).
