Default HELP!!! Problem with my driver window.

I own a 2003 350z and my window is jacking up. Here's what's going on. When I have my window all the way up and I take my key out the window will roll down some. Yesterday it stormed really bad and I came out to my car to find my window all the way down and my seat soaked. I'm just trying to figure out what's going on, get back with me! Thanks everybody!

Default Window Motor going out

I've read that when the window motor starts to go out, the window tends to "open" itself. My driver side started going half way down when I automatically Try to roll the window up. So I just manually roll it up (not using the automatic switch by pressing all the way up) with the door closed. It seems to get too tight on the rubber sealing when I roll the window up with the door open then go to close the door and the window would roll half way down.

mine never did that, it would do up... grind and get stuck... whack the door panel while holding switch it would go up.

My passenger door does the same thing. sometimes it goes up and sometimes it doesn't if I hold the button and hit the lower part of the door panel it will work. However on my friends Z the auto window proximity switch was broke, its on the inside of the door frame by the hinge it looks like a little rubber button.

Dismantle window motor and clean commutator from dirt. That's the real reason...then if necessary perform relearn procedure.

Your choice...new one or used have brushes and they wear down. Dirt is from these brushes. I would spend this 100 on beer...

Almost everyone I know who did the cleaning thing replaced the motor within 6 months. Bite the bullet and buy an OEM motor - those rebuilds crap out after a year too and even if under warranty you have to do the work again.
