Default question about seat air bags

Just notice that some 350z come with air bags v. others don't. Can anyone explain this?

When the Z33 was first introduced in 2003, Nissan wanted to keep the weight and cost down. That's why seat airbags were optional for models like the track and enthusiast options. Keep in mind that safety standards have continued to rise since that time, and seat airbags are now almost mandatory to meet NHTSA crash standards.

Thank you guys. I had to ask, since I purchased OEM seat covers and notice that one of the passenger cover had SRS side air bags on them.

Does it really have the air bag in there, or just the tag? I'll bet just the tag.

If it has the SRS tag, it's got a bag. Both sides will have it, if only one side does, a seat was replaced with one that has a bag.

I meant the seat covers. The bag isn't built into the cover, is it? It's likely part of the seat, or else a replacement seat cover would be $$$.

Im 99% sure its built into the seat and not the actual seat cover. I mean, the seat has wires that needs to be plugged in, i dont see how a bag in the seat cover will be set off if it wasnt plug into anything
