Ohhh maaaaan :(
I just got off the phone with my dealer. Sad, sad news. Nissan isn't going to be producing any Track models until this summer unless they are special orders. The New Zs start production August 2nd (which I knew). My Track however will be MADE! But it doesn't go into production until the end of March, so its estimated to arrive in early to mid-May.
That's a really long wait! Also, mine will be the first Track to go into production in 2004... I wonder if I should be worried about that given that they will be converting the Murano line (the Zs and Muranos are made on the same line) over for my Z before they start production... so there are chances of things getting screwed up! Any thoughts?

--First, why?
--Second, what do you mean by 'special orders'? Is that something different from a "dealer ordered" one?
--Lastly, I don't think it would be too hard to find a Track somewhere in the US for a dealer trade.. wouldn't your dealer search for one? Also, surely there are some Tracks in the 'pipeline' between Japan and here. I can't believe they are ALL taken.
This sounds strange....

This is the reson: Nissan moves the Fairlady(350Z) to the Tochigi plant
Very strange to move in the middle of the production year.
I wonder if this will improve quality? If I were ordering one now I'd wait until after January. Maybe with a build date in March after they work the bugs out of the new plant.
Nissan moves the Fairlady to the Tochigi plant
Nissan Motor Company has announced that it will transfer production of the Fairlady Z (350Z) and the Fairlady Z Roadster (350Z Roadster) from its Oppama Plant to its Tochigi Plant, with output at Tochigi due to commence in January 2004. The current Fairlady Z has been on sale since the summer of 2002, and sales of the new Fairlady Z Roadster launched on October 1, 2003. Nissan needs the Oppama plant to concentrate on such models as the March (Micra), the Cube and the Cube Cubic. The Fairlady Z is currently produced on the same line as the March. To increase production efficiency, Nissan has decided to transfer production of the Fairlady Z to the Tochigi Plant, where models such as the Skyline (Infiniti G35) are produced using the same platform as the Fairlady Z.
