05 350z questions
How's it going I'm new to this page and figured I would ask I couple questions to see if anybody out there has an answer. Number 1 is my front license plate I don't want to drill the holes to mount it so I was wondering if there was another way to do it? Also I was wondering if anybody had opinions on changing the head unit, I would like to put a touch screen unit in there but I was unaware of how difficult it would be and if it messes anything up with the Bose speakers? Hope somebody can help me out thanks a lot- 35thaniverseryz

Welcome to the forum. Stillen sells a front license plate bracket that mounts in the front tow hook hole. I've had one on my car for 10+ years with no problems at all.

Welcome to the dark side. For me, I put some suction cups in my license plate and mounted it on the inside of my windshield. And for the head unit, it shouldn't be too hard to install. The center console comes off fairly easily. I think the touchscreen units come with adapter cables and things that make them plug and play (pun intended).

I drilled holes for the front license plate. There is no problem doing this.
My advice on replacement of Bose equipment: If you replace any part of the Bose system with non-Bose devices, replace all of it.

Pics of your 35th would be great. I have a 35th as well you can find great head units. It's not very difficult to install. Take your time!! The trim scratches very easy.

Regarding your head unit question.
You have a lot of options. The factory unit is a double din size radio.
If you put the information here it will list all the parts you need for a radio install.

I think for a double din touch screen you don't need a dash kit, just the wiring harness.
I would highly recommend
if you want some new technology in the car and the ability to use the torque app on your radio instead of your phone.
*Note: there are other things you need to do if you have the stock Bose system or the navigation unit.

If you have the Bose system and you want to replace only the head unit you need the following items:
1. New head unit
2. Nissan wiring harness
3. There are other brands from other retailers, but this is what I bought and it worked.
Also, MAKE SURE to hook up the power antenna lead on the Nissan wiring harness. If you don't, you're r radio reception will suck. I just taped it up originally because the Z doesn't have a power antenna. But it's actually a power lead for an antenna amp of some sorts. The install itself is not that hard. You will get a check engine light after you take the center dash off, or at least I did every time I've had it off.
*Edit* Looking back at the order I did buy a double din dash kit for '03-05 350Z
