Default Can 98 octane be used in stock 350z ?

Can any body please tell me if filling my stock 350z with 98 octane is good ? And does it needs a tune to run it ? And what are the benefits of using 98 octane in my z ?

You can always use a fuel with higher octane rating than the manufacturer recommends for your car. It won't hurt anything except your wallet.

There may be some confusion about fuel recommendations since you're not in the US. In some places 98 octane fuel is the same as our 93 octane premium. See this article for more info.

i use 98 octane only since i bought the car.. its good for the car over lower octane fuel..
as for hurting the wallet.. i dont think so.. as higher octane fuel gives higher mileage getting down to almost similar per kilometer cost of running either fuel type (98 or 95)

As someone who actually races the Z, my wallet can say that higher octane will provide better performance if the engine is tuned for it. My HR is UpRev tuned to use 100-octane unleaded race fuel with test pipes and a modified exhaust. It produces a higher output, but at the cost of higher fuel consumption. Think 6-8 MPG with fuel costing almost $10/gallon.

No matter where in the world you live, higher octane fuel will benefit mileageonly if the engine is designed and tuned around it. Otherwise, that pricey fuel just gets blown out the tailpipe.

My fuel cap says something along the lines of "Use 98 octane only! Use 95 octane only when 98 octane is not avaliable and refill with 98 octane as soon as possible." ...But in other words.

But mine is euro spec. And 98 octane is about equal to 93 ron.

Oh sure.. modified engine will take in fuel as per the mods and tuning.

I assumed OP is driving stock engine (i shd hav mentioned).. my car engine is stock n i have tested both 98 oct and 95 oct full tank each.. and got 455kms on 95 where as 490kms on 98.. my engine is not tuned but these are the apprx kilometers car actually runs on either fuel type.

You shouldn't be using 98 in a 350Z. These are performance cars, high octane isn't good for the engine and will corrode the seals. You need to drain your tank and refill it with diesel to fix the damage you've caused.

98 in Bahrain might be the same as 93 in the States......
