Default Oil pressure gauge light is on

So the last past days I haven’t been driving my z becusse the oil pressure light came on and it was reading 120+ indicating that the oil pressure sensor has gone bad so I’ve decided to change it and now it’s not reading 120 anymore it’s back how it was before but the light is still on. Does anyone know what the case may be ? Thanks any help is appreciated

Get a OBDII reader and clear the codes. Then reread it to see if anything comes up.

I don't think you will find a code for oil pressure problems.

You don't say what model year your car is, but here's how the oil pressure light works in my 2005. The oil pressure sensor sends its signal to the oil pressure gauge in the triple meter. The CPU in the triple meter sends a digital signal to the Unified Meter and A/C Amp, which it turn sends a digital signal to the instrument cluster. The CPU in the instrument cluster turns on the oil pressure warning light. So you could have a problem anywhere along that chain.
