Default Window regulator drive not lining up to motor.

Hey all I am in the process of replacing, well, reinstalling my window motor because it two of the three bolts and backed out and the motor was so loose it had started skip and strip the 3/8" drive. The problem is I cannot get the motor drive to turn in order to align it to the window regulator hole. I tried turning the motor by hand and the regulator with an extension but neither budge. Should I just replace my window regulator or is there a way to align the two? Thanks in advance.

Ended up having to take the motor apart to align the drive to the regulator. Cleaned it up inside and after much pain managed to clear the brushes and put it all back together. Boom fixed.

A no-cost fix is always the best way to go but you should probably plan on replacing that motor in the near future. The OEM design is not really what you would call ‘inspired’ and they tend not to last too long after you mess with them...

Agreed! I was rushed to get it fixed so I could drive to work but I have a window motor and regulator ordered for when if does go out. Thanks for the response.

That’s right, open the motor and remove the magnet. Clean all the grime and put it back together and the magnet will adjust to fit. Repeat until everything is aligned.
