Default Popping 350

Alright so I’ve got a popping sound coming from the rear area of my Z and it sounds like a tire is popping, axles aren’t in bad condition, diff fluid is good. There is a little play in the back left axle but I don’t think enough for it to pop the way it does. Just trying to brainstorm and figure it out cause everything seems tight underneath and it’s getting frustrating figuring out what it is.
Take note it happened after I done a couple burn outs so I kno I personally done it and I have the money to fix what ever it is just can’t find the issue.

There is a little bit, but I feel like it was there before I got the car which I guess wouldn’t matter I just made it worse I’d say. You thinking it’s the differential bushings ?

Either that or axle pop....aka the half shafts need greasing ......which is easier to fix than diff bushings

Well I’d rather go ahead and replace all the bushings cause the center one is pretty bad. But I will try greasing it up and see if it helps.

It would be best eventually, but they aren't fun. Try the cheap easy fix first

Depending on the severity of the "pop" it could also be the common axle clicking. There's a thread HERE the details the TSB fix.

I actually enjoyed replacing the diff bushings. It’s a kind of a long process but not super complicated. The worst part for me was the axle nuts. Loaner tools available at AutoZone, etc.

The little kid in me loved burning out the ears...
