anti locks kicking in on hard cornering
Hey everybody having issue with anti-locks kicking in on hard cornering. Does it with or without VDC engaged. I have no lights coming on when it happens (i.e slip or brake). It is a 2003 350Z touring. 43k miles. Off set wheels and tires. Has 14" Akebono big brake kit, slotted rotors, hawk HP ceramic pads. Only change on car prior to problem put new rear tires on, front tires running at about 6/32" tread. Run SCCA autocross. One run anti-locks threw me out past slalom cone no control. Mechanic thinks ABS control module. I question due to no indicator lights. thought to disconnect ABS. Any suggestions? Looked through many threads found nothing specific to this. Thanks for any help.

Not second guessing dkmura but I suspect he was looking for a VDC trigger, e.g., rear tire too short or otherwise outside the 3% window.
But given the tire sizes, you should be OK with factory sizes. What may be possible is that one end (likely the end with the M&S tires is causing a VDC trigger due to difference in grip F-R.
And before you say/ask, VDC does NOT completely shut off when you switch it off. Maybe 70% cutoff or somesuch number.

I understand it doesn't shut down completley. The driver side front is a little lower tread than the passenger front. I am running with Hotchkis adjustible sway bars. After changing front tires any suggestions on sway bar settings?

But this doesn’t address your VDC/anti-lock issue.... matter of fact, you dial in too much oversteer, it’s goung to make matters worse.

Depends on whether your tech can access all ECM/ABS/BCM codes in memory. If the brakes are truly actuating at speed, it usually leaves some type of code in memory. Are you certain it was ABS kicking in and not VDC being triggered? They feel and act quite differentl
Thanks everyone for info. Think I'm going to change the front tires first since that's when the issue began. Then do the disconnects if persists. If I remove yaw sensor will that light up dash board?
