Can anyone recommend a unit that has apple carplay?
This question probably makes more sense in the Audio & Video sub-forum here:

That said, the installation wiring adapters you need will depend on whether your Z has the BOSE sounds system or not.
As for a Carplay capable headunit, I helped an old neighbor install 2 of the Pioneer AVH-4400NEX radios in their cars and they have been happy with them. They use them for both Android Auto and CarPlay.

Tell them your car, they show everything that fits. (Pretty much 90+% of HUs - DIN or Double DIN - will fit with the right kit) Then it's a matter of quality and features you want to pay for.

I have the Sony XAV AX1000. Works great (has apple carplay and android auto) also very budget friendly ~$250

Word.
I hate virtual (screen) adjustments. Wanna just reach over (or press steering wheel control), crank it up/down, done. Not into pressing the screen and having to play Nintendo with it taking my eyes off the road.
