alright so i have an 04 z that’s knocking like a door. i’m pulling it this week, picking up a used de out of a g35 sedan. i know i have to change the oil sending unit. i am wondering if the 4th digit of the vin matters? do they have to be the same letter for my ecu to work? i wouldn’t really understand exactly why the digit on the engine can’t be different, they’re the exact same engine?

check to make sure you’ve got a manual pilot bushing in it and that should be about it. As long as they’re both DE non rev ups you should be fine.

 

yea man, already had to swap vq’s on my old g35. pull that weird auto bushing out and then get the pilot in! thanks so much! glad to finally actually get some help on these forums other than just hate and people being negative! thanks again!

Posting stupid remarks like the first quote will do nothing but guarantee that you continue receiving "hate and people being negative".

I've learned through the years that individuals who respond the way you did to Travlee simply stating that you had not updated on your other "project" KNOW that others realize they were originally BSing.

Prove us wrong and update within 8 days.

 

on its way in. just gotta connect the harness, fuel lines, radiator, etc. will update as soon as that’s all done👍🏻
