So this steel pipe rides on the passenger side and I am sure that on some cars this thing rusts so badly that it either springs a leak or crushes when working on it.

What do you do then ?
How do you replace it?
Is it permanently connected to the aluminum part at the factory and a new one bolts from the back of the heads?

Just curious

Steel part pulls out of the aluminum part. There's an o-ring seal. You gotta wiggle it and pull fairly hard. Replace the o-ring and use a little silicone grease when you replace it.

also there is a 10mm bolt under that holds the 2 together. Make sure to remove that first.

Cool ....where is that bolt?

I actually DON'T have a problem with that pipe , currently....but could see how there COULD be a problem. Was just curious.

Worked on my wife's G35 a few weeks ago....had to cut the heater hose off at the firewall and at this pipe (after getting the clamps off) The bleed valve disintegrated...
