Default HELP!!! Have been having some issues with my engine!

Hi guys, I have a 2003 automatic Z touring model. Lately I have been having some weird things happening to my car. The first thing being is I would feel a light shake underneath the car when it was idle in drive, but did not occur when parked. This issue doesn’t happen consistently either. The second issue is that the engine would sound louder and more hoarse after it hits 4000+ rpm’s. In addition to that it felt like my car was really lacking in power and wasn’t pulling the same way it usually does. Anyone have any ideas what my problem is?

A common cause of power loss when the engine's RPMs increase is a wear in your automatic transmission. If you rev up the engine and do not have additional power, the "leak" is almost always the AT.

Ok, does the shake mentioned previously also relate to the potential wear in my transmission?

I'd say it's a possibility. That would explain why you would only have it when the transmission is engaged (D) and not when out of gear in park. Curiosity though, how many miles are on your car? Do you have a rough idle or check engine light on?

aside from the random shakes, idle is smooth. no check engine light either. my car has 130k miles on it.

Default Not the engine!

I would look at the torque convertor and that automatic transmission. Hope this helps !
