What the hell is going on with my Z?
I think my soul just died a little reading that. The previous owner really f*cked that Z up bad. When you said diesel, I started thinking "why tf would that even be a thing????" I'm guessing they went to a BP for the first time ever and looked at the green handles and thought "gReEn mEaNs dIeSeL." Oh BP....
Anyways, this story gave me cancer. Hope all works out brother!

DTC from first start with ECU **UNMARRIED**
After having the ECU married to the BCM I still had P1564 and P0506 showing up, even after clearing the codes multiple times. I honestly have no idea what to do at this point, as of now I have a $7k paperweight in the shop and the ONLY thing I can think of is the flywheel is somehow f***ed and preventing the new motor from idling. Please, anything that anyone could suggest would be GREATLY appreciated. Even my mechanic has no idea what could be wrong.
EDIT: I realised that this ECU had been pulled from a g35 which had cruise control, so having P1564 is to be expected.
Thanks in advance
~Nick

Not sure that I have any constructive advice after reviewing this thread and the video in the last post. I hope the OP picked up this much abused Z for a song, as there's a boatload of work to make it run properly again. It all comes down to gumption (which was a term used in Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance) and how much you have to continue to work on this project car. I think most of the DIY stuff has been covered already, and it's time to bring in a pro shop when you can afford it. This is not a project that will be solved via keyboard instructions. .
Man....I don't even know what to say. That poor Z, such a shame that someone would put it through so much abuse. You've already done all of the things I would've thought of and then some. A pro will be needed to get things sorted. I am curious about the new DE you put in it. Did you source a longblock? Did it include sensors and fuel injectors? Seeing as you had diesel in the tank, I can only guess that you still have fuel delivery issues. Perhaps the fuel lines or injector rails are clogged up if you're still using the originals.
