Newbie Question About My First Z?!
I am looking to purchase a Z and plan on modifying it engine wise heavily. I want to get in the range of 400-500 HP. I also want to make the car look nice while I’m at it.
I just had a few questions for anyone willing to help.
What years are best for modifying? I’ve heard newer years came with better engines.
What engine has more aftermarket products/support? DE or HR?
What years of 350Z have more/better aftermarket cosmetic parts?
Ive heard the 350z engine can handle around 400-500 hp on bone stock internals. Is this true?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance!

Any.
What engine has more aftermarket products/support? DE or HR?
DE, 03-06. More R&D, cheaper, more options.
What years of 350Z have more/better aftermarket cosmetic parts?
HR, 07-08. Cleaner engine bay, dual throttle bodies.
Ive heard the 350z engine can handle around 400-500 hp on bone stock internals. Is this true?
DE, possibly limited to low to mid 400 on F/I stock. Might have saw a report of high 400.
HR, with stronger internals, been reported up to mid 500, there's one HR pushing 680 HP on stock internals on F/I with a top-mount single turbo kit (probably pushing its limit)
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance!
