Default Parking on hill - MT 350Z

My driveway has a slight uphill slope - so when I park I was wondering what gear I ought to leave it in (as well as using the parking brake). The owners manual has directions that when parking uphill to place the gearshift in 1st. It seems to say on level ground leave it in reverse So, what if the car is facing downhill? 1st or Reverse?
I have attached the owners manual page, and perhaps I am reading it too closely.
What do you folks do?
TIA,
Nick

Not very steep, but enough for the car to roll backwards if I dont use the hand brake also.
