Ok I am not a mechanic but I replacing the clutch in my 2004 350z and I removed all the bolts in the pressure plate not thinking about what I know about installing the pressure plate and how you have to do them in an order so after i removed all if them I went to remove the pressure plate and it wont budge does anyone know the easiest way to rectify this issue?

Default Pressure Plate

Is there any way to free it without damaging the flywheel?

It's almost irrelevant since the flywheel should be replaced anyway.

Hit it it with a hammer. I don't see how you would damage the flywheel?
I just did my clutch. Didn't replace or resurface the flywheel

Or pry between pressure plate/clutch disk. Won't even touch flywheel.

My question... what's causing the PP to be stuck to the flywheel?

One bolt missed?
Burned/seized disc (which should not affect the pressure plate but ya never know)?
T/O bearing/forks somehow jammed onto pressure plate? (OK, yeah, really reaching here but again, ya never know)

So, as was mentioned already, if you are sure there are no *obvious* obstructions holding it in (missed bolt or something mechanical sticking it), try a dead blow or heavier. Here's the thing, also as was mentioned, you MAY need to replace the flywheel anyways if the disc is burned and is causing the friction surfaces to be stuck. If that's the case, hammer away, get the pressure plate off, R&R the FW. (I would do it anyways...)

It sometimes gets stuck on the dowel pins. Just pry it off evenly. Don't let it fall to the floor though.

I swear I can't tell if you are for real or just trolling lol.
Who goes though all that trouble to reuse an old flywheel?

Lol, seriously.
It was a 4hr(could probably do in 2 now) job and a $57 ebay clutch.

Lol, even if doing the work yourself I just don't see the point in doing that, unless you aren't looking for longevity.

Wanted a quick job with what I had. Ordered the clutch 19 months ago and anticipated taking the tranny out and inspecting the flywheel then either replacing it with a lightweight or just reusing it, but I didn't want my car down for another weekend because I've barely driven it in the past 2-3 years and it's getting cold/winter up here in New England.
I also have the cheapest documented turbo build that I can find and do everything as cheap as possible. Nothing I've done has reduced the reliability of my car and I don't think I'd put enough miles to ever burn this clutch out anytime in the next 5 years. So If I have to spend 2 hours 6-7 years from now changing a $57 clutch again I will not mind

I get the not driving part as I live that life too lol. As I'm a mechanic for a living and I just see a clutch job as one of those things you do once on a car no matter how much you drive. I just bought a Nismo twin plate because of that, should work nicely for my setup.

Dowel Pins. If they are painted/powder coated, they make a very, very tight fit!
