I'm running the original tire pressure monitoring system sensors in my 2005 Z. Yes all the batteries are dead. I also need to get four new tires so at the same time I was thinking of buy the item below, anyone every used this. Looking fro a simple non re-programing self learn experience.

I think I'm going to bite the bullet and let the tire installer put there sensors in using theirs. Cost a lot more at $80 per wheel but that includes programming and if I have any issues they will have to deal with it. Thinking of putting Yokohama tires all round.

First time Discount Tire broke my heart! Bought four tires & TPMs, had them installed by Discount Auto. Discount Tire did not charge extra for installation of TPMs or sync to TPMS, just regular cost of new tire installation.
Drove around for about three months. Took a long drive 150 miles BAM one of TPM failed! Took back to Discount Tire - SOL. Turns out there are two diags run by TPMS subsystem: one short when car is turned on; one long - runs after 45min to an hour contiguous driving without stopping - like long highway drive of about an hour! Discount Tire could NOT diagnose failing unit! But remember this takes trip of "about hour of contiguous" driving! Discount Tire only read TPM and drove it for 5 to 10 minutes.
The failing unit only fails during long trips and requires dealer equipment to read codes and address of failing unit. Had same failure on KIA Forte 2011 with same results - SOL! KIA dealer had equipment to read codes but technician lack skills to diagnose which unit failed! When TPMS (MIL??) fails this "long test" the subsystems goes into "limp mode" both Nissan 350Z and KIA. Limp modes means TPMS NOT monitoring of tire pressure and NO alarm sounds until TPMS (MIL) subsystem is "reset". Need to be informed of low pressure - NADA! That's nothing & not National Automobile Dealers Association (NADA). Be aware of this second test and ask whether installer can or will warranty this problem.
Good luck and get all functions TPMs. I am at 25% failure for long test (MIL).
Check manufacture date code - NOS, new old stock, may mean battery is old, fail !!

Today I had my new tires and four new TPMS units installed. They said they programmed the sensors but none of them register on the car. I drove for about 20 minutes with no change all blank. Do I have to reset something, drive longer or what? They said they would do a re-learn program again but is the right?
