Air Conditioner auto on?
Only recently i've begun to wonder about the wisdom of nissan to make your a/c compressor turn on every time you just want to adjust your in cabin fans on for a little extra breeze. From the off position you have to go thru auto to get to the manual speed settings. But the problem is that when passing through the auto setting it is preset to automatically turn on the air conditioner which seems like a waste to me when I didn't want it on in the first place... just the fan for a lil breeze. Is there a way, a circuit, or something to mod this thing to make it only turn the a/c on when i manually push the a/c button myself? Has anybody else thought about this and figured it out? Thx for the input whoever is happens to be in the Know
I think the A/C Compressor only comes on if your climate control setting is set below the cabin temperature. However, if your temperature setting is high enough that the compressor does come on your OK.
I know what you mean however. Example it's 60 outside and 70 inside. You just want to set the temperature to 65 and use the outside air to cool and clean up the stale air in the cabin.
The only way to do it is to set the temp to 65, dial through that AUTO position you are talking about and tap the center ring to get it out of the environmental control status that would kick in the compressor in this situation.
I do not think you are going to defeat that unless you do not want to ever use the environmental control. The only way I can think to do it would be is by wiring a seperate switch that could be used as an activation switch for the auto so you could dial through it without it changing status on you.
That would be a simple defeat switch wired through the control **** circuit. You would just have to place the switch in line.
Now, it it is all enclosed, which I do not know or on a circuit board.... That would be really tough. You might want to pull the panel out of there and take a look at it from behind and see if there is any wires to access to put a line in. Then you would have to identify it. I think I remember there being wires you could tap into for this the last time I was in there.

We're already discussing this on the tread below:

I know exactly what you mean. Whenever I just want a little fresh air or even just keep the fan on with air from the cabin the A/C kicks on at times. It's still a very nice system. Better a/c than all my previous cars.
With the A/C light "off", and the fan set to "low" (or any) speed, and the temp control
set as you like it...park and turn off the ignition.
When you crank it back up later, the A/C will still be "off", with only the fan blowing
at whatever speed it was before.
This is only with "outside" air selected, of course.

Most recently, mold appeared in my air conditioner, I thought for a long time how to get rid of it, there is a tool called lysol, but I was not sure of its effectiveness until I came across one very interesting blog on the Internet, the very name of link removed is gave me hope that I can still get rid of the mold, and so it happened.
Mold not only interferes with the supply of cold air into the room, but also spoils it, it also breaks the air conditioner itself by a little, due to the fact that every day it becomes more and more, it fills all the pipes, and then completely gets to the main components of the air conditioner , after which the air conditioner may give an error.
