Double-check that you still have them!

Did you have the shop replace the TPS sensors? If not, they will not display.

Here read this...

Damaged sensor? Can't be fixed, sensor must be replaced. Find a used one for sale in the Private Classifieds here. Get it installed then registered to the system by a dealer.

I always ask if the shop has a tech that is experienced with TPMS. If they damaged it take it back and make them pay for it.

Also, sometimes when replacing tires the TPMS must be reset. Dealership will have a special tool for this.

Good point. They can attempt to program the sensor again without any need for removing the tire.

If that fails, then move on to buying a new one and installing it.

Default Tire sensor

Can the sensors be installed on a aftermarket wheel (Volks GTS)?

Thx

Yes, then can be installed on some aftermarket wheels (not sure about the GTS). If they won't fit in the normal fashion (valve stem), then you can use the banding method of mounting them.

There is a battery in each sensor but it's a sealed unit and can't be replaced. You'd have to buy another sensor if it's gone bad or the battery died.

if you get different sized tires...can the new settings be input at the dealer so it matches properly to your speedometer and doesn't screw up tcs/vdc based on stock settings.

Nope. That's why everybody tries to stick to some "standard" sizes when going from 18" to 19" or 20" wheel. If you keep the diameters close the speedo will be fine. If you keep the stagger close, then VDC/TCS will be fine.

Easier said than done. I work at a tire shop and know what a ***** it can be. Just let them know you are suspicious it was damaged when they did the work., and that you would like to see the sensor personally. They won't be happy about it, but any self respecting attendant will oblige. If they damaged it, you will see cracking in the plastic, or someone tried to cover their tracks and replaced the sensor with a traditional valve stem.
