can a broken oil pressure senor cause a service engine soon light?
both my oil pressure sensor and service engine soon light messed up at the same time and it seems to be the problem. I want to make sure before i go spend 70 on a new sensor.

Thanks GreyZ. It's like deja vu all over again.

Might be on to something there. Have you changed your oil lately or checked to see if it is low on oil? But like previously stated, pull the code as well.

No - the oil pressure sensor does not interact with the ECU.

it’s circuit is contained to the dash(oil pressure light) and the oil pressure gauge.

No input to the ECU and the OEM ecu doesn’t have a function related to oil pressure

so I went to the store and got the code pulled it was for my o2 sensors so i replace those to see it wasnt the problem. with my oil pressure gauge reading high i bought a new oil pressure sensor for that to not work either. my oil pressure is still high and the service engine soon light is still on.
