Make sure the top works. Try it 3 or 4 times, not just once.

Spend some money on a full mechanical assessment of the car. Don't rely on a dealership report, or a garage that's looking to do the repairs. Make sure the fee includes a written report of the assessment from an experienced technician.

AT or MT?
If Automatic, nothing outside the normal things to look for when purchasing a car. If Manual, look for signs of oil consumption or oil burning (very black/greasy tail pipes). Is this Roadster being sold by a dealer or private seller? If private seller, ask about maintenance records and if there were any signs of oil consumption. Are there aftermarket modifications? If so, list them. I strongly recommend taking the car to an experienced mechanic for a detailed inspection.
Good Luck!
