Still, it's been a joy since that time and even though I live in Colorado, it gets driven almost every week. Plenty of mods, and the Z reflects my taste and preferences in cars:
So ahead of the game he posting from the future, hope it's worth the 21+year wait...

I just hit year 7... I'm hoping I'll get more use out of it this year.

17 years 67 year old nutcase. Z has less than 10k on the dial. Started modifying straight after I bought it. Heavily modified awd twin turbo. It’s a great little hobby

Purchased in Spring 2005 and got about 140K on the odometer. Thought about selling it a few times, but figured I'd just keep her and see what happens next.

Yep, my track Z arrived in 2002, NOT 2020.

I've owned my Z since July 1, 2003 so I have now owned it for 18 1/2 years. It now has just over 28,000 miles and is quite obviously a garage queen. It was meant to be a daily driver when I bought it, but things changed and it became a garage queen.

I bought my Z brand new almost 16 years to the day that I’m making this post. She only has 89,000km or 55,000 miles. Here’s some current pics from Nov. 2021.

Beautiful car. I bet if we were able to all get together, we could come up with a good group of low mileage examples. What a sight that would be!

I believe KornerCarver might be among the longest owners (and maybe our senior member). The ceramic coating and wheels make his car shine like a jewel.

I bought my 350z in September 2003. Unfortunately, I will need to retire the car (rusting undercarriage and a knocking engine). It's a daily driver for 150k miles.

Hard to believe there's extensive rust on your FM platform. Nissan uses a zinc coating on all steel components before painting or insulation is applied. Surface rust on some sections might lead you to worry. As for the knocking engine, just rebuild that VQ! 150K is a good time to start a restoration.

I bought my performance in Jan 2004. Still mine. I just turned 67. It holds my personal land speed record.

I am in Minnesota where the roads are covered in chemicals (and salt) during the winter months. My car has rust on the undercarriage (including light fixtures, cross-members, etc.). There is also significant rust on rear fender liners (probably caused by the tight "pulldown" of the suspension when shipping the car from Japan). The engine is failing now. It is not worth replacing an engine in a rusting car.
