Wallbro 255 Issues ?

Wallbro 255 Issues ?
I recently installed a Wallbro 255 because my OEM fuel pump was dying. I purchased this a long time ago because I was thinking about going FI but am no longer doing so. The issue I am having is it only starts 1/4 of the time. I can here the pump prime, I will let it finish priming as it takes a couple seconds. Most of the time its just crank, even if im giving it gas while doing so. After it starts it runs fine. I did not make the regulator any bigger, so it should be running the same fuel pressure id imagine. One of my friends suggested changing the fuel pump relay. Before I go and buy one, I wanted to post on here to see if anyone has had similar issues, or if there are other issues that are more likely.
I’ve sworn off walbro as brand that I will never install in any car I run. I think I had 4 or 5 of them fail on me in the past 3 or 4 years in multiple vehicles with a variety of fuel system setups.

Grab a multimeter to check the fuel pump control circuit before you start throwing parts at it. IIRC the fuel pump signal is the yellow/black in the 5-pin plug on the fuel sender unit. The ground is the solid black.
(Again IIRC, the other three are fuel level to unified meter, fuel level from driver side level sender, and fuel temp to ecu…but that could be wrong. Check the FSM Power and Ground section to confirm).
You can get all the relays in the IPDM (including the fuel pump relay) independent of buying a whole unit. Give a forum search for the part numbers. They’re reasonably affordable.
If the pump is priming though, I’d be more concerned with no crank sensor signal, especially if it doesn’t react when you open the throttle (usually the solve for an overly-rich starting condition).
After that, maybe clogged injectors? Maybe?
