Hi there
I was wondering if anyone could help me identify an issue I'm having with my 350z.
Just recently had a scuttering noise coming from the right front wheel area it gets louder with speed.
brake pads are fine. No stones caught in the guard.
Could i need a new wheel bearing? There is no obvious play.

Welcome- have you jacked up your Z and checked for axial play in the RF wheel bearing. Otherwise, spin the wheel and look (and listen) for any kind of interference on that corner.

Hi Kazza,

Do you have aftermarket brake lines? Or was any brake work done recently? Double check your brake line routing, make sure there's no chance for the line to come into contact with the wheel/tire. If you recently had new brake pads installed, make sure the anti-drag springs (included hardware with most pad sets) are properly engaged. Also check your fender liners, make sure they are properly secured. Lastly, give your front shocks a good shake and look for any movement at the tower hat (piece that bolts to the frame). If all checks out good, then I would lean towards the wheel bearing. I had one front bearing fail and there was no obvious play/noise while checking with the wheel jacked up. The noise in my case was very noticeable when I turned the wheel at speed to transfer load on the affected corner/side. Driving straight at freeway speeds yielded some noise, but not enough to pinpoint the exact source.

If you end up needing a new bearing, the good news is that they are the same part for both Left and Right.
