Default Manual 350 hard to put in gear

Hello, ive looked through the forums and havent found anything that might help me so heres my problem. My 2005 350z track is very difficult to get into 1st or reverse upon cold start, then when i get some heat in the car it again struggles to go into 1st at stop lights and such. Ive already replaced the tranny fluid with redline fluid and did a z1 clutch kit job a while back. Clutch fluid is dirty but is full. Other than replacing the clutch fluid does anybody have suggestions. Maybe my slave cyl?

Since you had to have the trans out to do the clutch, try a shift plate alignment.

And many more....

I will Readjust it however i dont think thats the problem due to it not being difficult all of the time if that makes sense. Thank you for the response.

Sounds like it's not fully disengaging. If this is true it should go into 1st/rev when the car is off easily.
Could be slave, could be clutch master. Bleed it and go from there

I had a similar issue with my Z years ago after I replaced the Master and Slave cylinders. Even though I bled the system a lot, it wasn't enough. I continued to have difficulty shifting into 1st gear. After a few weeks, I bled the clutch hydraulics again and still got some air bubbles out. That second bleed resolved my issue. In your case, I would look for leaks at the cylinders and since the fluid is black/dark, I would flush it. The parts aren't very expensive, if they are the original cylinders, it couldn't hurt to replace them.

hello, i have replaced my slave cyl and replaced my old fluid. Left old master cyl because it wasnt leaking. Have bled the system so many times with multiple different methods and the clutch pedal has never felt stiffer however the problem still remains. Im unsure of what to do next. I think im gonna try to throw my stock flywheel and clutch back in it to see if that changes anything. I dont have the money to keep throwing new parts at it atm so i dont have any more ideas. Your thoughts?

Look though the boot of the fork and see if your pressure plate fingers are janked up.
Also, get underneath and have someone press and hold the pedal and see if it holds and doesn't slowly retract

Double check your clutch pedal linkage to the master cylinder shaft, make sure the clevis fork with the jam nut is properly setup. The only thing else that comes to mind for me is making sure you have the correct Clutch Fork and Pivot ball combo. Also make sure your throwout bearing is properly installed on the carrier. Since this issue is only impacting 1st and reverse on cold start, I doubt you have a problem with these components, but since you're pulling the trans, it's worth inspecting and re-greasing at the very least.

It wouldn't hurt to measure the spacing of the new vs. OEM flywheel and pressure plate combos. See if there's a noticeable difference between them, they should be the same.
Good Luck!

I bought an ebay 14lb lightweight flywheel and ebay clutchmaxx for my car. Cost about $310 shipped. Working well so far for the past year(flywheel is new this year, but clutch was form last year). Might be something you should look into

Going with a new shifter assembly linkage just ordered from conceptz. I've tried it all, new cd9, new clutch, name it...I've replaced it. Can't move into gears with engine off, completely locked out it only let's me shift when the engine is on and spinning the gears
