Also saw this thread that was linked in the thread that JCat just posted.

Possible solution found here: https://my350z.com/forum/exterior-an...-position.html

Could it really be that easy?

Man, that's good information to have from Gary's post in the thread you linked Heel. I didn't realize there was some kind of door actuator safety lock-out. It looks like maybe it's some kind of tamper proof security setting that activates or possibly happens from improper installation of door lock components (like if something was replaced and then re-installed out of order/sequence).

I would for sure try the solution mentioned in the post: https://my350z.com/forum/exterior-an...-position.html

I hope it helps more people since these seems to be a pretty common problem! Thank you Gary Schmitz for the simple solution! I don't believe your post got enough credit!
Worst case scenario, the mechanical lock will need to be jimmy'd with a coat hanger or other tool. If you have access to a bi-directional scan tool (With similar features as Consult-II), you can try sending lock/unlock commands through the BCM (Body Control Module). I have an XTOOL D8, and I'm able to access pretty much every advanced function supported on my 350Z. This tool has paid for itself 3-4 times over now in the course of the year I've owned it.
Cheers!
