Hi, I have a 2004 350Z and all light came on in the dash - TCS, ABD, Brake, etc...Took it to a mechanic and he did a diagnostics and told me that the alternator is good and told me he got the C1140 code... Any suggestions please. Thank you!!
Your ABS module could be faulty or you have a wiring fault somewhere on the ABS harness. Check for corrosion, check power and grounds to the ABS module. Any signs of rodent intrusion in the engine bay? Any details on vehicle history?
I've never heard or seen a legitimate ABS module failure on a 350Z before, but I'm sure it's possible, just very rare. Most ABS related issues I've run across (all makes/models) are either directly related to a poor ground or power connection/supply (supply meaning battery or alternator) or wiring damage. The last one I ran into & repaired was wiring damaged caused by rodents nesting near the ABS module and those punks love chewing on wiring!
A standard code reader typically doesn't talk to the ABS system, this is a separate module from the engine or anything emissions related. The screenshot you shared even says it... "Emission Related Engine DTCs."
The two times I've had to tow my 07 350z I've had abs modules that needed replaced. Maybe we didn't trace the issue far enough, but one of those diags came from a trusted Nissan mastertech. Both times I replaced the module with a used one as new ones we not available. No idea why.
