Crank no start
Looking for advice and some steps to take in diagnosing my 2004 350z DE z’s crank no start. Quick backstory, took the car out one night and suddenly stalled when slowing down or coming to a stop, was able to start it back up every time but was very odd and was not overheating or anything. One day take it about 20 minutes away from home to a friends house and left it idling for a little and then proceeded to head back home where I didn’t notice it was overheating and pretty much all the way to the H on the gauge, and then it died while coming to a stop again so I’m hoping that saved it from causing major damage. Car wouldn’t turn back on after letting it cool down. Towed it. Coolant good, oil good and couldn’t find it being mixed or milky in any way.
Had to get a new battery and starter and it cranks and does not sound like low compression. I read what seems like every thread on the internet about what could be cam and crank sensors. Moneys a little tight and So far I replaced bank 2 cam sensor with oem and bank 1 has a autozone sensor which I hear these cars don’t like, it also has a new autozone crank sensor… but when I crank it the rpm’s don’t move at all… should I replace the crank and cam bank 1 sensor with oem and try again? Is it possible the autozone crank sensor isn’t picking up anything at all? I inspected the wiring and couldn’t find anything burnt or broken. All fuses are good. No codes, Fans do not come on high when cranking. Just looking for advice in what steps to take first/next so I don’t just throw parts at it. thanks

Welcome, but I absolutely wish noobs would post some basic info on their Zs. Things like mileage, and how long have you owned it? When you say, "no codes", do you mean you used a good scanner, or does this mean no CEL? Is it possible it's a NATS issue? Do you have a backup set of keys to try?
