I do virtually all of my own mods, except for internal engine component upgrades (cams, port/polish, etc.) and kit/spoiler work. Quality work is typically derived from DIY, and is a part of the bonding experience with your ride. IMO

me and my buddy do all of my mods. its nice to learn from him on some of the more dificult mods. we are doing headers in the near future. hardest was definitely the test pipes, took us about 2 hrs.

Installed my friends INjen exhaust with him, and never doing that again....we lack sufficient tools to get the job done properly, so it was a PAIN in the neck...but small and do-able parts, I install myself...haha, just to save a few buck.

I dont have my Z yet but when i get it i will do most of the work myself. The exhaust defenitly. Would have done the headers till i read about how hard they are to do. I have done everything from simple bolt ons to engine rebuilds in the 2 CRX's i have had so i think i can handle most anything. But i fear deflowering a new car. So guess i'll see when i get to that point how brave i am.
edit: plenum? what is this? Is this the intake manifold? And if so, will changing this void your warrenty?

I've done it all except for the tint/clear bra of course. Probably will get the leather seats installed too...
There are so many writeups on the different installs it really gives the confidence for a novice to tackle 'em. I've purchased about $200 in tools since I got the car I think.

If the dealership can determine that without the shadow of a doubt the problem you are experiencing in the car is directly related to the plenum then yes your warranty on that section is void. But the rest of your warranty is still valid as long as its not affected by the plenum.
