Default oil change

do you guys wait till 3750? like it says on the manual or go change it at 3000? and the dealer put the sticker as next 3000 instead of 3750.

i don't think it is a bad idea to go for a change at 3000, otherwise it never hurts, but if money is the problem you can probably wait till 3.7k....do you own or lease the vehicle?

Some leases, but not all, include free oil changes if the car is brought in every some number of miles.

Most of the motor oil commercials say every 3,000 miles, but that's an outdated standard. In reality, most of todays engines can go 4,000-5,000 miles between oil changes if driven under normal conditions. In my opion, the reason the commercials say to keep doing it at 3,000 is so people don't start buying less motor oil.

Not mine...my dealer threw in free oil changes for life as part of the deal when I bought the car.

oh then i got ripped off. oil changes even at jiffy lube are $60. My dealer is about the same price. Are they putting in synthetic oil at your dealer. im sure they are but synthetic is more expensive then regular oil.

I think that's high, too! Parts are less than $20! I could get the oil changed lots of places for $25, including any dealer, but I'm doing it myself...using the K&N filter and it's still cheap.

I would like to use synthetic, but the owner's manual says to use "mineral based oil". I assume that is not synthetic.
