03 Performance - Is this a good deal?
I'm getting ready to purchase a Z and I am located in southern ca. I have found an 03 Performance model with 5500k miles and it has leather. I'm guessing the previous owner must have added that aftermarket. The dealer is asking 30,900 but he is willing to go down to 27,500k. Is that a good deal? I was trying to stay around 26k but I was orignally looking at an enth. model without leather. I would appreciate your feedback.

Just an FYI: I bought my 03' performace with 9,300 miles a few weeks ago for $25.8 - they were asking $29.5. What I did is find the lowest priced ones on E-bay and autotrader....printed them out and showed him. I'm happy now (except for the feathering, but they're dealing with that).
Good luck!

I would say that is a good price. Are there any stories with the car: accidents, fender benders, major repairs?

No leather but I planned on switching to Sparco seats anyway. They are probably more $$ out there because you can drive them all year around = higher demand. Here in Cleveland, she'll sit in the garage for a few months as it's snow hell here in the winter. When I noted pricing to the dealer, it wasn't regionally specific - I just wanted to show them I can get a smokin deal on the internet. The dealers HATE the internet but have no choice these days. I still think you're getting a good deal at the $27.5 but see if you can get them down another G. Or...if you're worried about payment - ask about a residual lease. There has been articles out on how the 350z is predicted to have an excellent long term resale value (look at the 1990 300TT's still going for 10-12k). This is good as you may get lucky and at lease end have a lower residual then what the market will bear. Plus...dealers will normally negotiate even lower to get you to buy it when your term is up (I know this first hand - did it with my Jeep). Just don't lease any longer then 48mos. Well, best of luck to ya!

Thanks. I will do that and try and save another 1k. I actually plan on buying versus leasing so I don;t have to wory about mileage and modifications. Rates are so low these days, I would rather keep my money in the bank versus putting a big downpayment. I'm actullly putting a few bucks down from selling my eclipse turbo.
